Its been almost 1 year now since we adopted our chocolate lab Macie.   I figured we would give you an update. Macie was approx 2-3 years old when we adopted her.  At first I was hesitant on adopting a female dog because we had another female at home (Brandie) and I was worried the 2 wouldn’t click because for almost 8 years our female dog had been with our male dog (Ashes-who passed away in Aug/2010).  We had decided it was time to start looking at other dogs after we lost Ashes…because our dog Brandie was very lonely.  When my husband saw Macie for the first time his eyes lit up and said “thats the dog for us”.  She had just recently had a litter of puppies…and was so quiet and well behaved.  I really wanted to make sure her and our dog Brandie would get along…so we brought Brandie along for a ride to meet Macie.  The 2 clicked right away and were playing and running around together.  So we did up all the paper work and Macie was “ours”.  This past year has been amazing…she is such a loveable dog…she has taken on “mommy” duties with out 2 1/2 year old and I swear at times thinks that she is her puppy…LOL  She LOVES kids and is very protective of our daughter.  They have morning “snuggles” every day while I get ready for work….I am attaching a picture of a typical morning at our place.  She is also very attached to my husband and often sneaks his pyjama pants out of our laundry room during the day while we are at work…when he gets home he can usually find the pants and Macie curled up on her dog bed.  She LOVES going for walks/runs every night with Brandie and my husband…she runs her little heart out.  She is very active!  At times she can be a little sneaky and gets into stuff….but we love her…and she has foud her FOREVER home with us.  Thank you Timmins Humane Society!!

Sincerely,

Micheal, Jessica & Breuklen Gagnon
